Guardians of the Ural Forests
The characters depicted are exclusively the fruit of the author's imagination. Nevertheless, their choice was based on Slavic and Finno-Ugric mythology. The bear (Osh) is one of the key characters in the mythology of the Finno-Ugrians in general and the Komi peoples in particular. The lynx was considered by the ancient Slavs to be the "amulet of their land", and the amulet of all Russia. The owl is a nocturnal predator and, therefore, is associated with the spirits of the lower (dead) world, but on the other hand, it can act as a faithful assistant and is often a generic totem. The depicted amulets are historical ornaments of the peoples of the Urals in the "animal style". The size of the original is 480x650 mm.
